This much overlooked town on the south shore of Lake Yssyk-Köl offers various eco-treks into the nearby Terskei Ala-Too Mountains for 2-7 days. You will be able to visit various scenic spots including wild hot springs, a small salt lake, or Chasha Manasa, the longest waterfall in Kyrgyzstan. You can even trek all the way to Naryn from Bokonbaevo. Aside from trekking, Bokonbaevo has four yurt camps situated from right on the lake up to the foot of the mountains. Whether you want to swim, fish, go horseback riding or just relax, here you can experience the traditional life of the Kyrgyz.

Description: Shor-Köl means “Salty Lake” in Kyrgyz. Its water possesses curative qualities similar to those of the Dead Sea in Israel. There is also curative mud around the lake on the shores. The lake is about 40km from Bokonbaevo and 500 metres from Lake Yssyk-Köl.

Day 1: Transfer from Bishkek to Bokonbaevo Village (about 300km, 4-hour drive). Arrive by lunchtime. Meeting the support team at the CBT office. Lunch. Transfer from Bokonbaevo to the Jaichy yurt camp. Dinner and overnight stay are in yurts.
Day 2: Breakfast. Start the horseback trek. Lunch en route. Arrive at the Bel-Tam yurt camp. Walk around, exploring the surroundings. Dinner and stay overnight in yurts.
Day 3: Continue trekking to Manzhyly after breakfast. Lunch en route. Arrive at the Altyn Bulak yurt camp in the afternoon. Relax on the beach. Dinner and stay overnight in yurts.
Day 4: Free day in the Altyn Bulak yurt camp. Optional: hill walking. Swim in Yssyk-Köl Lake. Full board and overnight stay in yurts.
Day 5: Transfer to Bishkek in a shared taxi
