Description: Bokonbaevo is a village, lying at the foot of several valleys, including the Konur Ölön Valley – which runs for some distance parallel to the road on the other side of the mountain ridge. Walk through the picturesque scenery of southern Yssyk-Köl. Enjoy the vastness of the high-altitude pastures, breathtaking views from the top of the passes and the variety of wildlife and nature. It is impossible to remain indifferent to the Skazka Canyons you will see on the return leg – sandstone cliffs shaped and eroded into a variety of crags and pillars varying in colour from red to orange.
Day 1: Meet at Altyn-Bulak yurt camp. Dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2: Get up at 8am. Breakfast at 8:30. Start trekking at 9am. Head off from the yurt camp to the trek’s starting point – the mouth of the Ashuu-Tör Gorge (driving time 1,5-2 hours), below the pass. Lunch en route. Transfer to the foot of the Ton Pass. Dinner. Stay overnight in tents.
Day 3: Get up at 7am. Breakfast at 7:30. 8am-1pm: Cross the Ton Pass. Lunch en route. Dinner at 8pm and stay overnight by the Jyluu-Suu hot mineral spring.
Days 4-5: Trekking on the Syrt jailoo.
Day 6: Transfer back to the foot of the Ton Pass.
Day 7: Cross the Tossor Pass. Transfer to the yurt camp and on the way visit the Skazka (“Fairy tale”) Canyons and the petroglyphs of Soogottu. Relax on the beach. Dinner and overnight stay are in the yurt camp.
Day 8: Breakfast. Depart for Bishkek.
