Kyrgyzstan: The Pearl of Central Asia (7 days/6 nights) 

Bishkek – Karakol – Jety Oguz – Son Kul – Bishkek – Osh - Uzbekistan  

Day 1  Bishkek: Meeting at the Manas Airport and transfer to the « green » capital of Central Asia.  City- tour.: Visiting Ala-Too Square, the main square of Kyrgyzstan, The State Historical Museum, providing different founds and exhibits relating to the Kyrgyz history, Old Square, Manas Square called after Kyrgyz legendary hero Manas, “ZUM” shopping center where you can buy different souvenirs. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2 Bishkek-Karakol:  After breakfast setting off for the east of the Issyk-Kul lake (more than 1600m above the sea level), to Karakol, a town founded in the 19th century as a Russian garrison where a famous Russian explorer Prjvalky lived. On the way visiting the Petroglyphs Museum in Cholpon-Ata. In the afternoon getting to Karakol, where we will see the Dungan Mosque and the Holy Trinity Cathedral in order to understand the life of Kyrgyz  people in the 19th century. Overnight at the hotel.  

Day 3 Karakol – Djeti-Oguz:  After breakfast visiting the Memorial Complex of Prjvalsky in Karakol and a huge Karakol bazaar where we will try shashlyk (shish kebab) and traditional Ashlyanfu. Opportunity to buy dry fruit and honey. In the afternoon drive to Djety-Oguz Sanatorium, a very famous sanatorium of the Soviet time. Soviet president and famous astronauts visited it. Opportunity to take a radon shower and massage in the sanatorium. Hiking to the waterfall. Overnight in yurt.

 

Day 4 Jeti-Oguz - Kochkor. Drive to Kochkor along the southern cost of the lake. On the way stop at Manjaly-Ata springs. Lunch in Sagymbek’s house, a famous hunter with golden eagles in Kyrgyzstan. In the afternoon Sagymbek will show us how to train birds of prey. After lunch drive to Kochkor. Visit of the handicraft museum. National folklore concert. Overnight in guesthouse.

 

Day 5 Kochkor    Son-Kul: In the morning after buying food drive to the Son-Kul Lake via Kalmak Ashu Pass (3448m). On the shore of the lake watching Kyrgyz and Central Asian national horse riding games (Ulak-Tartysh – Kyrgyz polo, Kyz-kumai  - catch a girl, Tyin-Enmei – while galloping trying to get a coin from the ground , Odarysh – wrestling on horses). Overnight  in yurts.

 

Day 6 Son -Kul – Bishkek - Osh (flight): In the morning having traditional breakfast together with local nomads. Setting off for Bishkek. On the way stop at Burana Museum, a site of a medieval city of Balasagun, the capital of the Karahanid Kaganate, a Turkic dynasty of the 11 century. Arrival in Bishkek. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Osh. Overnight in guesthouse.

 

Day 7 Osh –Dustlik border: In the morning city tour of Osh – an ancient capital of Central Asia. We will see a huge vivid colorful bazaar and traditional chaihana where we will try shashlyk and plov, visit three-store yurt, museum of Kurmanjan-Datka, the queen of Alai, climb to Suleiman Mountain. After lunch we will escort you to the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border.

Kyrgyz visa can be obtained in the permanent representation of Kyrgyzstan in Europe or at Manas International Airport in Bishkek (2 passport’s photos and 35$ per pax, passport with a validity of minimum 6 months.)
